EBLÒ, the iconic building that for years housed Enel’s offices in Turin, is poised to undergo a significant regeneration and redevelopment project.

Located in the northern part of the city, the building is distinguished and easily recognizable by its unique porthole-shaped windows. Its 11 floors overlook Corso Regina Margherita at the corner of Corso Svizzera, making it a prominent landmark.

The redevelopment project aims to preserve and enhance the existing facade, its compositional characteristics, and the iconic windows, while also focusing on substantial energy efficiency improvements for most of its systems. The project targets achieving LEED Silver sustainability certification, providing flexible office spaces, and creating multifunctional areas that serve both the building and the external public.

The intervention will not increase the building’s volume but will maintain its primary use as office space, retain the existing parking spaces within the structure, and invest in converting some areas to include a cafeteria, a bar/café, a gym, a new lobby, and communal spaces.

To make the building’s entrance more inviting, the existing architecture will be significantly altered. This includes demolishing an existing canopy, replacing part of the current facade with an integrated system, and constructing a new staircase parallel to the existing one, providing new access to the first floor. Connecting the two staircases will be a series of circular metal-clad planters integrated with seating, encouraging passersby to sit and experience the new entrance as a public square rather than just a thoroughfare.
